MAYA Double-Page Spread! – Click here to open!
Because I have started a Maya competition where you can win some comic trade paperbacks by helping promote Maya I’ve decided to publish the Double-Page spread a little earlier. I hope you like it!?
More information about the Maya competition you can find in the blog here: The MAYA Competition!
I really would appreciate if you could help spread the word about Maya.
Best wishes,
Chris

wow, amazing detail and are those ribs?
Thanks! … and yes, they are
Best,
Chris
what is that nebula looking thingy ?? how long did it take you to draw this? its beautiful
Hey Mary,
with all your feedback and messages I now can name you my number 1 fan I think… hehe
I really appreciate your help and feedback!
Regarding your question: The nebula looking thingy is NOT leviathan… it’s something which keeps him away.
Best,
Chris
can’t wait to see the leviathan .. its definitely in the water cos thats what they are…. seamonsters
… unless you wanna change it a bit
… oh… and this double-page spread took about 12 hours I think until I liked the colors
Chris
amazing .. i actually told an american novelist about your work …he writes horror/gothic theme .. I “ordered” (lol jk), i told him to check some of your art work. He might like it for his cover art. He said he likes Tales from the Crypt .. well, there ya go
Chris, this is really beautiful work!
Aside from a few language gaffes (poultry, not pouldry) etc., a truly professional comic. But myself I couldn’t write in a language other than my own. Kudoes!
The story is most intriguing…
I’ve subscribed via RSS. and following on Twitter. I really want to see where this is going and how you get us there. Thanks!
Thank you Jande! I really appreciate it and I feel flattered right now
Pouldry is a typo. There are some things in the text I will fix before Maya will get printed. I’m not a native speaker and I often just don’t see this things. I’m very happy that the story is working so far and readers are interested in how it will develop. I’ve planned a lot of things in advance… even the ending for the whole story is in my head… and it will be fun to see the reader-reactions on this trip
Thank you very much for following! Please let me know what you think about the story when I publish new stuff.
Best wishes,
Chris
i actually thought the word “pouldry” was written like that cos Ringo pronounced it that way ..lol its like me when i say “for all” or “you kidding me”.. it kinda sounded like “fer all” / ” you kiddin me”..so if i am a comic character (and lets all hope not), my balloon dialogue will be written like that. ..unless the creator decided otherwise …lol
In that case Mary, my speech bubbles would be unintelligible gibberish since my mumbling is so bad, hehe.
@ Chris: Really liking the comic so far! I noticed the “pouldry” too but since I sometimes under-stress the /t/ and say it more like /d/, I might possibly spell it that way without realizing it. That’s what I thought happened.
Very nice–and confusing! Should be interesting to see what they are and what’s going to happen now.
It will all make sense…
… some things earlier and some later. But it will all be explained. Trust me! I’m a gir… ups… sorry… that was the wrong textbook
Best,
Chris
I must say that I am very intrigued. Unlike most other webcomics I have read, I can actually see myself purchasing this. I judge a comic book by its cover. If the style of drawing doesn’t interest me then I don’t care about the story. Your style is very much to my liking and I can’t wait for the next page of the story!
Thank you very much! I appreciate it.
BTW: Maya will be printed later down the road. I love comics and I think a ‘real’ comic book is something you should hold in your hands
Best,
Chris
Great artwork, good story hook. One of my players in a “Villians & Vigilantes” roleplaying game I ran in decades past had a character at least superficially similar to Maya, the animated teddy bear in particular. Waiting to see how she develops.
Thank you very much! I have to think about different forms of THANK YOU’s after all this praise
… but it’s the truth: I really appreciate the feedback!
I just took a break from my game work and watched some TV where I saw some parts of Spielberg’s Artificial Intelligence a few minutes ago. There are some scenes with a walking (and talking) teddy bear and I instantly realized how cool a movie version of Maya would be. Awesome!

Chris
Holy moly Macaroni…..That is one AWESOME Background! And I love her comment! “Trust me Im a girl” HA! Epic Win!
I am so totally a fan now and I am most defiantly gonna follow this comic!!! ^-^
Awesome! I really am happy you like it so much
Have fun!
Best,
Chris
wow!! look at all this ppl making comments .. oh the pressure to finish the next page before its deadline … will he make it in time ?? will he ditch it for another week and let the fans down ?? will he delegate the work to me (God, i hope not! i can’t even draw a straight line with a ruler)? STAY TUNED !
Yes I know. It’s crazy how many readers already are following Maya’s adventure.
Awesome!
Best,
Chris
I betcha its her jeans ..lol where did you get that jeans from ..nice fitting ..i want to buy a pair
Wow…you’ve got yourself a new fan in me, Chris! Excellent artwork! Please keep it coming!
Thank you! Fantastic
Watch out for the new page… it will be online very soon.
Best,
Chris
Great artwork; I love the reflections in the water and the energy sphere. I can’t wait to see what happens. Though the phrase “don’t poke a hornets nest with a stick” comes to mind.
Thx! Again!
Can you tell us who it was… so we can buy his books?
Best,
Chris
Psssst! Don’t spoil anything here…
hehe

Chris
