UPDATE February 28: Right now I have a lot of game related work which is very time-consuming. And if this isn’t enough my family got ill so the next page update will come one week later. – Chris

Hi Chris,
Keep up the good work, you’ve got new fans!
I’m a new read as I just found your comic through a banner on another comic site.
Interesting, intriguing, really nicely drawn and more compliments as a dutch person can be not good at in translating, lol.
Yeah!… Bring it on!
hehe
Fantastic! Great to have you on board!
Best wishes,
Chris
right, when the crystal hits ..it will attack
Can’t wait for the next page ..:) you promise..monster-like
I did, yes
… but you will have to wait a while longer because of some site problems and too much game related work and with most of my family members are sick right now it can take a while until things get back to normal and I can update the comic
Best,
Chris
aww .. so sorry to hear that ..
just take your time .. you did mention something about a deadline of some sort around march or april re- your other project .. I cant wait to see it
Don’t get yourself sick too .. hope everyone gets better .. im pretty sure your followers won’t mind waiting for a week or two
I came to your comic through Belfry Web Comics (just giving credit where credit is due).
Although my first response was “talented artist draws teenage male fantasy” you double page spread impressed me. I look forward to watching the story unfold.
Thank you very much! It’s great to know you think I’m talented
hehe
Maya is for the teenage male what Twilight is for the teenage female you know…
Just kidding. I hope in the end everyone can see Maya is more than a teenage male fantasy. But with some parts it is and you are right
Best wishes,
Chris
I’m intrigued. The art is very nice, great style for this. And even if Maya does have gravity-defying boobs at least the rest of her proportions look believable (a pet peeve, I admit). I found the link through a banner on keenspot. I hope that the link between the beginning and the “current day” stuff will be explained soon.
Thank you! I really appreciate it that you are following the comic and it’s great you like the style.
I’m trying to make here boobs more believable but hey… if Maya will get a movie later down the road she has to look like todays actresses you know…
I wonder what banner on keenspot this is. I put up some banners but can’t remember one at keenspot… mhhh … but this one seems to work
Regarding the prologue and the current day stuff you will have to wait for a while until it gets explained. The storylines can be compared to the tv-series LOST… but at the end of issue one you will know more… you don’t have to wait for six years to know the answers like with LOST
Best wishes,
Chris
Looks amazing a few questions will this get printed? If so wil it be ongoing or a miniseries? Look forward to seeing more good luck with everything.
Thank you eserrano! I appreciate it.
Regarding your questions: Yes MAYA will get printed later down the road. More information about this you can read in my interview over at Broken Frontier here: http://brokenfrontier.com/lowdown/p/detail/talking-teddy-bears-and-a-certain-maya
Maya has an ending and will be published in story-arcs. There is room for a lot of different story-arcs before reaching the end… so somehow this is an ongoing series… but because I’m doing it 100% by myself it will be out in story-arcs and not monthly books. Maya starts with a three-part story-arc.
Best,
Chris
You know, so far, im loving this comic. Keep up the good work, and please hurry! need moar!
also, very detailed art work. Easly comes to level with major comic producer like Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, etc.
Hey BlitzHellion,
thank you very much! Great to know you like it so far and great to know you think it’s Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, etc. comic level. I really appreciate it!
Unfortunately the next update will take a while longer because I have a lot of game related work right now and my family got ill. If everything works out as planned the next update should come next weekend.
Best wishes,
Chris
Now that is one FUN teddy bear! lol!
That was the idea
Thx!
Best,
Chris
So just found you (early on it seems, I love it when that happens) and so far my comments are as follows: It’s pretty, but doesn’t make much sense so far (though in a “stuff to be revealed” sort of way instead of a “crappy writing” sort of way). You’ve just hooked yourself another fan.
Cheers,
Cote
Fantastic! Great to have you on board for the ride
Maya is written a little bit like the TV show LOST. But things will make sense faster. At the end of issue one you will have a better idea what this comic is about
Best,
Chris
Your work is very aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome! The drawing is fanatstic.
You have a new fan. Update the next pages soon!
Hey Sue,
thank you very much!
Great you like my work. I will put up the next page (12) soon but after this one I have to take a break for a while because Maya is my spare-time project and I don’t have much spare-time right now. I hope I can get back to weekly updates soon. More info you will find with the next update.
Best,
Chris
I still like the art, but I’ll be honest, when Maya and the teddy bear came on the scene I haven’t enjoyed it as much as those first pages.
I’ll stick with it to see where it’s going. I really hope there’s a good story behind the whole teddy bear and just not you doing your own twist on the furry thing.
I hate furries.
Hey zcotty,
I hate them myself…
… believe me: This is a sci-fi / superhero story and things will make sense at the end of issue 1. … and there will be a time when people who hate the teddy right now will love him, believe me
Best,
Chris
Just found your comic this evening via a Project Wonderful link on my friend Clint’s web-comic (The Wandering Ones). I’ll admit, you’ve got me curious: Mysterious man with a vial of who-knows-what found in the snow, a cute girl, and a walking, talking teddy bear with a sword……..Now I’m just wandering “What’s gonna happen next?”
Ha! So the money was well spent
Great to see my storytelling approach is working. I love this kind of stories where you always think about what’s gonna happen next myself so it is great to know you are feeling this way about Maya.
Best,
Chris
